Archies Change Venue!

The Royal Hotel Dungog Function Room.

Exciting Archies News: Thanks to exhibition sponsorship by The Royal Hotel Dungog, the venue for the Dungog Archies is the Function Room at the Royal. The DAS Committee hopes to see you at the opening of the Archies on 28 March at 6pm, The Royal Hotel Function Room, 80 Dowling Street, Dungog. Those of you travelling any distance will find excellent accommodation at The Royal.

The Dungog Archies are open to ALL artists- members and non members of DAS, artists who reside in the Dungog Shire or elsewhere. The subject of the portraits must either live in Dungog Shire, or have a substantial connection with the Shire, but artists from anywhere are welcome to enter!

The substantial sponsorship of the adult section by The Medical Practice Dungog provides a very worthwhile first prize of $750 and a second prize of $250. The Youth section of the competition, sponsored by Mr Douglas Spedding, has a first prize of $150, and a Junior section first prize of $100. Mr Spedding has increased his sponsorship this year and there will also be two Highly Commended prizes of $25 each. The closing date for entries is 25 March. The Royal Hotel Dungog Function Room is in a separate building, to the right of the main hotel building (as you’re facing the hotel). The entry from Dowling Street can be seen beside the driveway which runs between the hotel and the function room.
