Exhibition Open for New Art and Craft Works
New Art and Craft works are most welcome to be shown in our present exhibition ‘Gaia Is’ from 10 January 2025.
Artists, artisans and performers… Now that our exhibition, ‘Gaia Is’ is underway, we would like to remind you that you are welcome to submit new works to be displayed in the gallery, and for performing artists, that there will be more opportunities to showcase your talents at the gallery in 2025.
Artists and artisans- if you would like your work to be shown in the Dungog Arts Society gallery as part of the ‘Gaia Is’ exhibition, please download an entry form from our Exhibition page, or collect one from the gallery, and bring your new works in from 10 January.
If you presently have work in the gallery, you are welcome to swap existing works for new, or replace sold works with new works with NO entry fees.
If you have not already entered work in ‘Gaia Is’, now is your chance! The show is open for new works from 10 January 2025. Artists and artisans DO NOT have to already have work in the show to bring new works in. If you’ve been on holidays and missed the opening- no problem, bring your works in now.
If you would like to add MORE work or NEW work, please fill in an entry form and pay an entry fee- only for new works NOT replacing existing or sold works.
Obviously, if you submit new works now, they cannot be judged for the competition, for which the prizes were announced (more to come on that) at the opening. But they CAN be hung or displayed in the gallery for the rest of the exhibition, until 29-30 March 2025. And of course they can be sold from the gallery, with no commission to be paid.
Performers- Gig in the Gog will be starting for 2025 on Sunday 19 January. Usual time, noon til 2pm. And of course there will be opportunities for performers to have a short set at the opening of our next exhibition, ‘People and Places’ in early April…
Visual artists and craftspeople are welcome to come to Gigs as spectators, or to tell the group about their art or craft practise, inspirations and so on. If you would like to do a short artist talk, please come along to Gig in the Gog with any notes or props you may need.
